World Mental Health Day

PROFOH Headquarters, Washington DC, PROFOH is proud to Join WHO, UNICEF and the International community to observed this year World Mental Health Day, with the official Theme: Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change. The core focus is to ensure that individual with personal lived experience of Mental Health Conditions are actually listened to and integrated into shaping policies community care, legislation and  support services rather than being excluded or confined to traditional Psychiatric institutions.

PROFOH is also a ranking member of the Global Coalition of Youth Mental Health led by UNICEF. As a matter of urgency, we are calling on every country to developed Mental Health Policy or Action   Plan for People With Lived Experiences (PWLE) while thanking the almost 80 countries that have put a policy in place. Our organization is scaling up mental health interventions globally, it will interest you to know that, we have supported WHO financially in 2025/2026 back to back.

Just yesterday WHO reached out to PROFOH with a survey, we request that our gift to them should focus on Mental Health and Emergency Health. Further, we have also open communication with the Turkish Government on the possibility of a mental health mission in Inegol, Turkey. PROFOH is very likely to organize a mental health workshop at the sidelines of IMF/World Bank Group Meeting, as we have submitted proposal to the Group.

PROFOH and its strategic partner Stand Up For Women Society (SWS), United States, are in the advanced stage to organize an international Mental Health Summit, schedule to take place in New York City in 2027.
