PHILIPPINES EARTHQUAKE APPEAL
PROFOH Headquarters, Washington DC, PROFOH headquarters in Washington DC sent their condolences to the people of Philippines, a powerful magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck offshore southern Mindanao in the Philippines at 07:37 local time on June 8, 2026, which was caused by the Cotabato Trench, it resulted in over 114 fatalities, extensive infrastructure damage exceeding ₱1.47 billion affecting 68,000 who were left homeless, and again on August 5, 2026, a powerful offshore struck the southern region of the Philippines, triggering local panic but causing no immediate casualties or structural damage -The seismic activity triggered a rapid secondary sequence, including a magnitude 5.2 aftershock within the hour. Seismic adjustments continued into the following morning on August 6, yielding a magnitude 5.6 aftershock west of Balut Island, The earthquake struck exactly while local authorities on Sarangani Island were distributing emergency government financial aid. The sights and sounds of this disaster is of great concern to our Board, Management and Members of our organization..
We sincerely urged all our members, partner organizations to donate generously and appeal to help all the organizations and support ASCEP institution, Association Of Christian Educators Of The Philippines, inter-Regions, who have approached PROFOH and are actively involved in helping the displaced families with clean drinking water, food supply routes, and basic electricity across multiple municipalities local people organizations on the ground in the affected regions of Philippines.
