World Humanitarian Day-2026
PROFOH Headquarters, Washington DC –The theme for World Humanitarian Day 2026 is “Strengthening Global Solidarity and Empowering Local Communities”, This theme aims to highlight the urgent need to protect humanitarian workers and ensure they can safely deliver aid to those in need. The day is observed on August 19th, recognizes the contributions of humanitarian workers and the importance of their work in conflict zones and disaster areas. It also calls for greater action to protect aid workers and hold those who attack them accountable.
Core Pillars of the 2026 Campaign Theme:
Honoring the Fallen & Their Families: Recognizing the immense personal sacrifices of thousands registered / unregistered aid workers killed over the last three years, with a specialized spotlight on supporting the families they left behind.
Protection of Health Infrastructure: Demanding a complete end to the record-breaking spike in targeted attacks against health workers, hospitals, patients, and emergency medical transit.
Upholding International Law: Demanding that states use concrete legal and diplomatic tools to investigate attacks, eliminate impunity, and prosecute those who target neutral aid operations.
This year , the PROFOH Group is scaling our humanitarian interventions to places we have not been to in the past, as we currently mobilizing relief materials and cash donations to several countries with natural disasters, such as the earthquakes in Venezuela, Philippines, Japan and Colombia.
Finally, PROFOH would like to sincerely thank the United States as the world’s leading international humanitarian donor, followed by the European Union in second place, we call on other countries to emulate the US and EU .
